However, even if that visit does not take place, he still figures to find his way to campus for an official visit.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Darboh is trying to schedule trips, but scheduling issues keep cropping up. His visit to Michigan last week was postponed.
"He goes Wisconsin this weekend," Dowling coach Tom Wilson said. "We're trying to get (the Michigan trip) squared away. I know he wants to get to that one. It's Wisconsin this week and I know he'll get back to Michigan, and I'm equally certain he will get to Notre Dame."
Dowling finishes the regular season Oct. 14 against Indianola (Iowa) High, and the playoffs begin shortly thereafter.
So, despite talking about an Oct. 21-23 official visit to Notre Dame for the mega-recruit game against USC, plans for visiting South Bend, Ind., then are only tentative.
"That's the date his guardians and I talked about," Wilson said. "But, hopefully, we play that Wednesday in the playoffs that week, so it's not going to work."
Darboh had a strong start to the season, including six catches in the first half last week in a 20-point defeat of Des Moines East High.
"I think he did very well," said Wilson, who added pass-catching isn't Darboh's only strong attribute. "He's dominating blocking. He does very well."
