Comments - In 2002, the state of Illinois boasted its best crop of offensive line prospects in the history of the state. The crop of 2003 lineman are already starting out with their backs against the wall with the comparisons being made but there are still some solid prospects emerging.

Fenton's Trevor Bending was a prospect that not many people knew about at the beginning of May but several college recruiters have said that the 6-foot-4, 270-pounder could be a top-drawer lineman come December.

"I don't have any offers yet," said Bending. "I've had a lot of coaches stop by the school but no offers.

"Northwestern, Central Michigan, Iowa and Northern Illinois have all called so far in May.

"My favorites are Notre Dame, Northern Illinois, Illinois, Northwestern, Iowa and Stanford."

Bending will be a two-year starter on both sides of the ball in 2003. He's being recruited on the offensive side of the ball as guard but could play tackle as well.

Trevor says he'll be attending the Notre Dame, Illinois and Northern Illinois summer camps.
