Future Irish in Action

Not all of the members of Notre Dame's recruiting class are in action this weekend. We have a look at each verbal pledge along with one very high profile target.

Our weekly review of where Notre Dame pledges are headed this weekend to compete.

IRISH PLEDGES

Tee Shepard: Fresno (Calif) Washington Union
Nothing has changed in the ongoing battle between Shepard and the California Interscholastic Federation in Shepard's eligibility. Any talk of the Notre Dame pledge playing in September has been replaced with talk of a possible appeal hearing in early October.

Taylor Decker: Vandalia (Ohio) Butler
Decker and his teammates get ready for their biggest test of the season when they travel to Troy High School to take on the 4-1 Trojans in a big conference showdown.

Ronald Darby: Oxon Hill (MD) Potomac
After dropping their first two games of the season, Darby and his teammates have posted back-to-back victories. Saturday will find them hosting 1-3 Great Mills.

Scott Daly: Downers Grove (IL) South
The Mustangs look to earn their sixth victory of the season when they travel to Villa Park (IL) to take on 0-5 Willowbrook.

Nick Baratti: Spring (TX) Klein Oak
Baratti and the Panthers host 4-0 Klein Forest on Friday night in what should be a real test. Baratti, who suffered an injury a few weeks back, is being used at several different positions this fall in an attempt to help his team.

Justin Ferguson: Pembroke Pines (FL) Flanagan
Ferguson and his Falcons teammates look to break their two-game losing streak when they travel to Miramar (FL) to take on 2-2 Everglades High School.

Mark Harrell: Charlotte (NC) Catholic
Harrell and the Cougars remain perfect with a 6-0 record as they have a week off before taking on Harding University on October 7-th.

C.J. Prosise: Woodberry Forest (VA)
Prosise and his teammates are coming off back-to-back losses and will face 0-4 Paul VI on Friday night. Deontay Greenberry: Fresno (Calif) Washington Union
As IrishEyes.com recruiting analyst Brian Dohn reported, Greenberry is tearing it up this season with nearly 200 receiving yards per game. Friday night finds the 3-0 Panthers on the road against 3-0 Selma.

David Perkins: South Bend (IN) Washington
After starting off with a 4-0 record, Perkins has seen his team struggle with back-to-back losses. This week they'll host 4-2 South Bend (IN) Clay High School.

John Turner: Indianapolis (IN) Cathedral
Turner and his teammates will look to get back to their winning ways in two weeks against Arsenal Tech.

Romeo Okwara: Charlotte (NC) Ardrey Kell
The Knights now sit with a 3-2 record after knocking off Charlotte (NC) Independence last weekend. This week they face 4-2 Myers Park at home.

Sheldon Day: Indianapolis (IN) Warren Central
The Warriors remain perfect at 6-0 as they get ready for another big test against 6-0 Carmel High School on Friday night. In their first six games, Warren Central has only given up 41 points while posting back-to-back shutouts coming into this contest.

Jarron Jones: Rochester (NY) Aquinas Institute
After posting their first shutout of the season, Aquinas Institute will travel to Corning (NY) to battle the 3-1 Hawks.

Chris Brown: Hanahan (SC) Hanahan
Brown and his teammates earned their first victory last weekend and now must travel to 3-2 Garrett Academy Tech.

IRISH TARGETS

William Mahone: Youngstown (OH) Austintown-Fitch
At the time of this writing Mahone, of Austintown-Fitch High School had not been cleared to play in Friday's game against Massillon (OH) Jackson High School. Despite that recent development, Irish fans will want to be online tonight to learn where Mahone will take his talents in college.
