Brandon Barrett ran a 4.48 at the Nike Camp at Penn State. Schools started to take notice. "West Virginia, Marshall, Georgia Tech, Penn State and Ohio State have offered me," said Barrett. "I am getting letters from a lot of schools in the ACC, SEC and Big 10."
Maryland and Connecticut have called Barrett recently as well.
Barrett says he hasn't finalized any camp plans yet. "My coach is setting that up. He is going to set up where we camp and I should know that soon. I know we are going to a seven-on-seven camp at West Virginia. I don't know where else we will be going."
The West Virginia prospect is also a good student with a 3.0 as his core G.P.A. He plans to take the test in June.
Playing time seems to be the most important factor to Barrett. "I am going to see how many wide receivers they are recruiting," said Barrett about what is important to him. "Playing time is important because I want to play."
Notre Dame hasn't shown much interest yet in Barrett. "I haven't heard anything from them yet. I have received a couple of letters but they haven't shown much interest. I know it's a great school so I would be interested if they started recruiting me."
As for his top schools, Barrett says he is wide open. "My top schools would be those that have offered me. I haven't really thought about it yet but the schools that have offered me seem really interested so I am interested in them. I'm going to take my time and take all my visits and then I will have a better idea of which schools I like the most.
Comments. I've heard Barrett is a very good prospect. He has some impressive offers so far. We will keep an eye on him as well and see if the Irish start recruiting him.
