Texas Prospect Impresses Irish

Curtis Williams hails from Arlington, TX. He recently attended a Nike Camp and impressed some coaches there including one from Notre Dame. The 6-1, 175-pound safety prospect is waiting for his first offer but some top schools appear to be interested.

Curtis Williams plays free safety in high school. "I don't have any offers at this time," said Williams. "I did receive some phone calls. Notre Dame, Iowa State, I can't remember them all because they were early in May."

Williams said Greg Mattison gave him a call in May. "He said he was watching me at the Nike camp and was impressed with the way I played. I had an ankle injury and I could've played better. He said they will be watching me and he came by and picked up some film."

The summer is usually a busy time for these prospects and Williams will also be busy. "I plan to attend some camps but I'm not sure which ones yet. I will probably go to a couple of local camps and then attend one or two out of the area."

Williams plans to take his time with his decision. "I will probably take my visits. I want to take my time and find the school that really wants me."

Notre Dame is a school Williams doesn't know much about yet. "I would be interested in them but I'm not sure how interested they are in me. They have a nice tradition and it's a great school. I just don't know if they want me."

Willaims is keeping an open mind right now about all the teams recruiting him. "I really don't know who I like. I like a lot of schools and I'm going to take my time. I am just going to wait and see who has the most interest in me and visit the schools and see where I fit in best."

Williams didn't know his core but said he has a 3.1 overall G.P.A. and needs to take his test.

Comments. He seems wide open and not really thinking about this much right now. I will keep an eye on him and see how interested the Irish are in him.
