There was one hitch to the equation when St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) running back Dami Ayoola postponed his visit until after the season.
This official visit weekend is built around the Boston College game as the Irish look to continue their momentum.
To help you get primed for the visitors, IrishEyes.com takes a look at who is coming, and what are the most important aspects of the weekend regarding each prospect.
Position: Tight end
School: Westview High (San Diego)
Scout.com Position Rank: Three-star, 19th
Schools under consideration: Arizona commit is also looking at Notre Dame, California, Colorado, Oklahoma and Washington
Official visits made: Colorado (10.30) and Washington (11/5)
Official visits on schedule: California (12/9) and Oklahoma (12/16)
What this visit means: McNamara committed to Arizona, but that was before coach Mike Stoops was fired. If the Wildcats hire a big-time coach and McNamara is comfortable with the offense, his commitment could stick.
However, he is looking around, and he really likes the way the Irish use the tight end as a focal point of the offense.
One thing working against Notre Dame on the visit is McNamara's schedule. He plays tonight in San Diego, and will fly to South Bend, Ind., in the morning. McNamara is scheduled to leave campus late Sunday night, which will make for an exhausting travel schedule.
IrishEyes.com is hearing McNamara is a heavy lean to stay on the west coast, but a strong visit and a big game by Notre Dame's tight ends could sway that.
School: Dowling High (West Des Moines, Iowa)
Scout.com Position Rank: Four-star, 33rd
Schools under consideration: Notre Dame, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan and Florida Official visits made: Iowa (10/15) and Wisconsin (9/10)
Official visits on schedule: Michigan (11/25) and Florida (TBD)
What this visit means: Darboh knows about the program from offseason visits, and always liked Notre Dame. The question is whether the Irish can do enough to sway Darboh, who appears to be leaning toward Michigan.
Since Darboh will be in Ann Arbor, Mich., for next week's game with Ohio State, which should be an amazing atmosphere, it is important for the Irish to make a huge impression.
One point the Irish will likely try to hammer home is the importance to land Darboh to add to a stable of receivers in the 2012 class. He plans to make his decision before the new year, so this is a huge opportunity for the Irish to sway him.
