2013 Receiver has Eyes on Irish

Ohio 2013 wide receiver Mykel Traylor-Bennett has high interest in Notre Dame. We have the latest.

Standing 6-foot-3, 190-pounds has forced Mykel Traylor-Bennett to make a position change in high school. Once a running back, Traylor-Bennett moved to wide receiver this past season and knows his college future will be as a pass catcher and not a ball carrier.

One program that has caught his eye is Notre Dame.

"I know Notre Dame likes to throw the football," said Traylor-Bennett. "I was a running back my sophomore year and I still run the ball a little bit. However, with my height (6-foot-3, 200-pounds) I've been forced to move to wide receiver. I'm still working on things but I feel I did pretty well this year."

How did his first season go as a wide receiver?

"My coach said I had about 750 yards receiving," said Traylor-Bennett. "He also said I had about 300 yards rushing and I scored 11 touchdowns."

While it's early, Traylor-Bennett has already picked up his first offer and is hearing from several programs.

"I got an offer from Toledo a while back," said Traylor-Bennett. "I've also been hearing from Ohio State, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Michigan State, and Cincinnati."
