Pennsylvania blue-chip defensive tackle A.Q. Shipley says five schools are in the running for his services. Notre Dame has made the cut.

"I'm going to make a decision by the end of summer," said defensive lineman A.Q. Shipley.

"The schools that are in the running are Penn State, Michigan, Pittsburgh, Virginia and Notre Dame. That's my top five.

"I've already visited Penn State and Michigan. This summer I'm going on a southern tour. I'm going to visit Virginia, Virginia Tech, Maryland, North Carolina and North Carolina State.

"I can't say I have a leader. I'm looking hard at the five schools that I just gave you."

Shipley, a 6-foot-3, 270-pounder, from Coraopolis (Pa.) Moon Area is considered one of the elite defensive tackle prospects in the nation.

Shipley burst onto the recruiting scene in the summer of his freshman year while camping at Michigan State.

The Spartan coaching staff felt that Shipley was the best lineman they had in their camp regardless of age.

A.Q. has lived up to all expectations and he's turned out to be the football player that everyone thought he would be.

Shipley is going to be a very productive football player at the next level and he definitely has the talent to play on Sunday but for now, he has a decision that has to be made and his bags are packed.
