Quick Hit Update: Taylor Decker

Notre Dame pledge Taylor Decker got a phone call Thursday from a college coach looking to gauge his interest in breaking his commitment to the Irish. What did Decker hear and say? We have the latest from the offensive tackle.

Many in Ohio questioned when Ohio State failed to offer Vandalia (Ohio) Butler offensive tackle Taylor Decker. For Decker, the move allowed one of his dream schools to offer and he accepted. Thursday, Decker got a call from new Buckeye head coach Urban Meyer. What did Meyer have to say?

"I did get a call from coach Meyer today," said Decker. "He said he thought I was a good player and that he would like to have me on their team and everything. That pretty much what it was and I told him I would talk with my high school coach and my parents and get back with him tomorrow."

Has Decker had the chance to speak with anyone about the Ohio State interest?

"I've talked with everybody," said Decker. "As it stands right now I'm still 100% committed to Notre Dame. There are great things there and great opportunities there for me. I'm kind of a man of my word, and I already committed to then and that is the way that I see it right now."

Could anything sway Decker away from the Irish?

"Something drastic would have to happen for me to change my mind," said Decker. "I can't lie, it was pretty exciting to get a call from a coach like that. However, it was also exciting to talk with other head coaches that recruited me."
