Top Running Back Hopes to Visit Irish

Toms River, NJ is home to Dwayne Jones. The 6-1, 228-pound running back is another top prospect the Irish appear interested in. Jones has some impressive offers and hope to visit the Irish well.

Dwayne Jones had a solid junior season. "I rushed for 953 yards on 103 carries. I scored 13 touchdowns rushing and also caught 13 passes for 220 yards and 4 touchdowns. We ran a spread-pro set offense last year but we will probably run more from the "I" formation this year."

Jones has some impressive offers so far. "Virginia, Boston College, Rutgers, Michigan, Ohio State, West Virginia, Penn State and Syracuse have offerd," said Jones. "Nebraska said they are going to offer me too."

Jones also received calls from Wisconsin, Notre Dame and UCLA this May. ,/P>

The Irish do appear interested in Jones. "I've only talked to them once but I really got along with their coach. He was a real nice and he said they liked me a lot. I am going to take one of my official visit there for sure because that is a real good school."

The New Jersey prospect has already visited some schools unofficially already. "I've been to Boston College, Rutgers, West Virginia and Maryland already. I liked Boston College the best."

Jones says he has a 2.9 in his core and plans to take the ACT on June 4th.

Jones isn't in a big hurry to make a decision. "I will take all my visits. I'm looking to see how I fit in with the program. I will look at the depth chart at running back and see how I fit in with the coaches and players. I have time. I want to go to a school that has a similar climate as New Jersey."

He does have a top five so far. "Notre Dame, UCLA, Vriginia, Ohio State and Boston College right now."

Comments. Expect Jones to be recruited heavily by the Irish. He seems very interested in Notre Dame. If the Irish offer, I expect them to be in the hunt until the end. Top Stories
