Dutch Has 17 Offers

Gonzaga Prep in Washington D.C. is home to Doug Dutch. Dutch has an impressive list of offers and the Irish also appear very interested in this star wide receiver prospect. Will an offer be coming for Dutch?

Doug Dutch is known as a blazer with his 4.34 speed. He has 17 offers thus far. "Maryland, Virginia, Penn State, Boston College, Pitt, Va. Tech, Stanford, Michigan, Michigan State, Syracuse, Ga. Tech, Tennessee, North Carolina, West Virginia, Purdue, Vandy and Oregon State have offered me," said Dutch.

Dutch says he plans to attend camp at Virginia and North Carolina this summer.

Coach Tyrone Willingham called Dutch in May and the Irish seem very interested. "He said that Notre Dame was very interested in me. He talked about how he wanted good character players that also want to excel in academics. He said Notre Dame would be a great fit for me. He is a real nice guy, real down to earth, I liked him a lot. I will visit there."

Dutch says he is looking for a good relationship with his coaches. "The player-coach relationship will be important. I want to play in a pro-style offense. Academics will be important. I will look for an opportunity to get on the field early and hopefully they will have my jersey number available." Dutch wear numbe 15 for Gonzaga Prep.

Dutch says he is wide open right now but a few schools stand out. "Virginia, Stanford, Michigan and Tennessee stand out. If Notre Dame offered, they would be right there with them."

Comments. His offer list is impressive. If the Irish offer, they should be in the race. They don't seem to be leading for many top wide receivers but it's early. I will watch him and see if the Irish offer soon.
