Jones Plans to Visit Notre Dame

Homestead, FL is home to Charlie Jones. The 5-11, 200-pound tailback is considered on of the top tailbacks in the country. He has over 20 offers thus far and the Irish should be offering soon.

Charlie Jones had a solid junior season rushing for 1,570 yards and 19 touchdowns. Jones says he runs the 40 in 4.5 seconds. "I have a bunch of offers," said Jones. "It's over 20, I can't remember them all but most of the teams in the ACC and SEC have offered me and some schools outside of the region."

The Irish also seem interested in Jones. "They came by my school and they called. They told me that if I go there and something happens and I can't make it in the NFL that I can get a good job outside of football. They told me that they were going to offer but I don't have one in writing yet."

He also appears interested in Notre Dame. "I'm interest in Notre Dame. They will be one of my five visits. They have a great tradition and academics."

Jones said he plans to take all his visits before deciding. "I'm going to take all five and get to know each school. Distance won't be a problem for me."

The Florida prospect is also a solid student with a 2.9 g.p.a. and scored an 850 on his S.A.T.

Jones greg up cheering for the Hurricanes and they are one of his top schools at this point. "Right now it's Miami and Ohio State. Everyone else is kind of even after those two."

Comments. I've heard Jones is one heck of a tailback. I think Miami is clearly the team to beat here and will probably eventually end up signing him. It's possible the Irish could get into the race. Top Stories
