Quick Update: Mark Harrell

At the start of the year Mark Harrell took his development as an offensive lineman another level by taking part in the Semper Fi game. Since that time, Harrell has watched as things have changed with the landscape of Notre Dame Football. Irisheyes.com checks in with Harrell for the latest.

This week has been an interesting one for Charlotte (NC) Catholic offensive lineman Mark Harrell as he's seen an expected future teammate walk away from the Irish and another becomes a member of the Irish program surprising everyone.

How does Harrell feel about the addition of Gunner Kiel to the Irish list of recruits in the class of 2012?

"I'm really excited to have Gunner Kiel on board," Harrell told Irisheyes.com by text message. "Gunner's a real good player but also a real good kid."

While many of the Irish pledges have already taken their official visits to South Bend, Harrell is getting ready to trip this weekend and just completed a visit from his Irish recruiting coach Mike Elston.

"I'm taking my official this weekend," said Harrell. "Coach Elston visited and it went very well."

Irisheyes.com will check back with Harrell following his visit to campus this weekend.
