Is 5-star WR Greenberry Signing with Irish?

Washington Union High (Fresno, Calif.) five-star receiver Deontay Greenberry has been committed to Notre Dame since the spring, but after making several official visits questions of his commitment emerged. So, is that still the case? His message was cryptic.

Deontay Greenberry's recruitment has been filled with drama, but through it all he maintained his commitment to Notre Dame.

So, with slightly more than a day before a signing ceremony at his school, the five-star receiver added one more cryptic message to cap off his recruitment.

"I'm signing at 7 o'clock in the morning," Greenberry said. "I'm going to announce my school then."

When asked if Greenberry planned to sign with the Irish, he said "I will be signing, and I will be telling you where I'm going on Wednesday. You'll find out Wednesday."

Greenberry, who starred at Washington Union High (Fresno, Calif.), is close with cousin Tee Shepard, a five-star cornerback who enrolled earlier this month at Notre Dame. And while Greenberry committed to Notre Dame in the spring and maintained being a solid commit despite taking official visits to USC, Arizona State and Houston.

Visiting the various schools gave Greenberry the chance to see multiple things.

"It was probably how different each of the teams operate," Greenberry said. "It let me know where I feel most comfortable."

Although Greenberry visited four schools, including Notre Dame, he wasn't willing to say which schools were in contention for his services.

Greenberry is the No. 7-rated in the 2012 class. He made 105 catches for 2,108 yards and 32 touchdowns as a senior. Top Stories
