Johnson Unsure of Future

Two-sport athletes continue to populate the recruiting scene in 2013. Ohio lineman Isaiah Johnson is getting attention from college coaches in both football and basketball. Johnson remains unsure where his future may take him.

At 6-foot-8 and 280-pounds, Cincinnati (Ohio) Walnut Hills High School lineman Isaiah Johnson is one of the more interesting prospects in Ohio for the recruiting class of 2013.

A standout in basketball and much-improved on the football field, Johnson's dual talents has college coaches from both sports taking notice.

Does Johnson favor one sport over the other when looking ahead to college?

"At this time I really don't know," said Johnson. "Right now Cincinnati, Indiana and West Virginia are some of the schools who have made contact for football. I know my coach is talking with some other schools and I'm not sure if Notre Dame is one of them."

Is he surprised by all the attention he's receiving from football coaches?

"Yes, a little bit," said Johnson. "My first year of playing football was my eighth grade year so I'm still learning."

While staying uncommitted as to the path his future might take him, Johnson knows his concentration is needed on the hardwood as tournament play is just a few weeks away.

"We are 15-2 right now," Johnson continued.

With an average of 17.8 points a game to go with 12.4 rebounds a game, Johnson has already seen Akron offer in hoops with Louisville offering for the gridiron. Top Stories
