Quick Hitter: 6-9 OT Gets Notre Dame Offer

William Penn High (Philadelphia) offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey picked up his eight offer when Notre Dame extended one earlier this week and he gave some quick thoughts on it.

Mike McGlinchey is one of the biggest offensive tackles in the nation, and earlier this week he received an offer from one of the biggest programs in the nation.

The 6-foot-9, 275-pound McGlinchey, who plays for William Penn High (Philadelphia), learned Monday he picked up an offer from Notre Dame. It is an offer that stands out to him.

"There's a huge tradition there and obviously exciting to get offered from them," McGlinchey said. "It has a great tradition of football, and it is a great school academically."

The offer from the Irish gives McGlinchey eight. He was previously offered by Wisconsin, Michigan, Duke, Boston College, Virginia, Rutgers and Maryland.

McGlinchey is planning to make a decision before his senior season begins, but he is still going through the process of what he wants in a school.

"I want to stay within a reasonable driving distance for my family so they can come and watch me play," McGlinchey said earlier this offseason. "That's a big part of my decision-making (process)."
