Berk's Breakdown: Hunter Bivin recruiting analyst Dave Berk looks at offered offensive line prospect Hunter Bivin of Owensboro, Kentucky.

Prospect: Hunter Bivin
Position: Offensive Line
Height/Weight: 6-foot-7 | 287-pounds
High School: Owensboro (KY) Apollor HS

Offers To Date: Notre Dame, Auburn, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, LSU, Miami (FL), Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, Wisconsin.

Physical size and the ability to play tackle, guard or even center if needed are a major plus. Does a solid job with initial kick step and gets good hand placement while keeping balance. More advanced pass blocker than run blocker.

At times gets too high in his drive blocks with too much of a forward lean. Looks top heavy at times and needs work on a more powerful first step and hip explosion.

With the combination of size and abilities Bivin is a player with a high upside at an early age. He must keep working on technique and keep weight at current level or not more than 300-pounds. The ability to play multiple spots along the line gives the team that signs him several options.

Early Thoughts

It will be interesting to see the direction Bivin takes with his recruitment. He's expressed his love for Notre Dame in the past having grown up watching the Irish as a kid.

But whether this is enough to suggest he'll sign with ND is anybody's guess.

We feel the changes in the Irish coaching staff may have slowed Bivin from making a quick decision following his offer. However, expect the Kentucky native to visit campus looking to build a relationship with new Irish offensive line coach Harry Heistand, quickly. Top Stories
