OT Bivin Ready for Notre Dame Visit

Apollo High (Owensboro, Ky.) offensive tackle Hunter Bivin will be on Notre Dame's campus this weekend, and he will have family with him.

Apollo High (Owensboro, Ky.) offensive tackle Hunter Bivin is scheduled to visit LSU on St. Patrick's Day, but Notre Dame could keep it from happening.

The 6-foot-7, 290-pound Bivin will be making his third visit to Notre Dame on Saturday, and he will be going with his mom, his older brother and Apollo High assistant coach Billy Cooper.

"We were scheduled to visit Tennessee this Saturday but Notre Dame came up with this kind of intimate junior day with not a lot of commits up there," Cooper said. "So he said, ‘oh, let's go see them.' Obviously, Notre Dame is up there with him."

Bivin grew up a big Notre Dame fan, and he will be one of a handful of prospects on campus this weekend.

"For him to have an opportunity to possibly play there is pretty cool," Cooper said. "You chose Notre Dame, that's a 40-year decision, not just a four-year decision. That's a lifetime network."

Bivin, who is a strong student, holds offers from Auburn, Florida, LSU, Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin and so on already visited Auburn, Michigan, Vanderbilt and Kentucky.

And it is easy to see what schools like about him.

"It's his size, his frame," Cooper said. "He's 6-7, 290, with a 7-foot wing span. He's athletic. He's not just a big body. He's feet are great for his size. It's the things I always harp on with people, and that is he is an athlete and not just a big body."

"The thing he prides himself on his he likes to screen block. He loves to get out in space and move and not just hit in the trenches. He really likes to get out and exploit his speed and agility. That's why some of these big schools are coming after him."
