"It's pretty good," said Prevot. "They offered me yesterday (Tuesday) and I'm to call them later (Wednesday) and get all the details."
The interest being shown by the Irish came as a surprise to Prevot.
"I've really not dealt with anyone at Notre Dame as they just contacted me," he said. "I had not heard much, but I do know about the program and hope to visit sometime this summer."
Prevot has three certain requirements when looking at schools.
"Academics will be my number one deciding factor," Prevot explained. "I'll also be looking at the overall environment and how the defense is set up."
With 17 offers in hand, several coming from within his home state, will it be hard to go too far away from home?
"It won't be that hard," said Prevot. "I just really want to get out of my home state, probably, so it won't be that hard to leave."
Ranked as a four-star defensive end by Scout.com, Prevot is hearing the Irish are looking at him as an outside linebacker. What area does he feel he needs to work on to complete his overall game?
"I know I need to work on gaining more weight and on my first step off the line," said Prevot. "I also feel I need to work on my speed to get to the quarterback.
"I'm probably going to make a decision close to the start of my season," Prevot said.
