Early Doucet had an impressive junior season. He was 39-70 for 600 yards and six touchdowns. He also ran 100 times for 1,236 yards and 22 touchdowns.
Most schools are recruiting him as an athlete. "Wide receiver is what most say but I could play quarterback or corner," said Doucet. "If I had a shot to play quarterback, I'd be interested but I think wide receiver is where I will end up."
Doucet has an impressive list of offers. "Florida, Florida State, Miami, Texas, LSU, Souther Cal, Colorado, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss and Tennessee have offered me. I know I'm missing a few but that is all I can remember right now."
The Louisiana prospect is a solid student as well with a 3.3 core and scored an 18 on his ACT.
The Irish haven't shown much interest in Doucet so far. "They haven't offered me and haven't sent much information. That was strange because Notre Dame and Ohio State were the only two schools that didn't contact me after we sent film. I was interested and they were one of my favorites but they don't appear to be recruiting me hard. "
Does he have a list of top schools? "Not really, I'm open to everybody right now. I'm going to take all my visits and find out as much as I can about each school. I won't make a real early decision."
Comments. It's hard to say if they are interested. He seemed surprised Notre Dame hadn't been recruiting him hard. Watch his film and he is certainly a top prospect. Hopefully the Irish will get into the race with him. Could be an academic situation as well.
