Britt Waiting for Irish Offer

Cullman, AL prospect Justin Britt has an impressive list of offers. The 6-5, 252-pound defensive end prospect has already been to Alabama camp and plans to visit Florida in July. Where do the Irish sit with Britt?

Justin Britt had a solid junior season with 110 tackles and 16 tackles for loss playing defensive tackle. Some schools are recruiting him as a defensive end however. "I have offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Florida, Arkansas, Stanford, Vanderbilt and Duke. My coach said Notre Dame were going to offer me but I haven't seen anything in writing yet from them."

Britt just returned from Alabama camp and he enjoyed it. "Yeah, I liked it a lot. I got to see the campus and talk to the coaches. They are good guys. We had a lot of fun. I plan to go see Florida in July. I also might go to Georgia this summer."

Notre Dame has been sending him mail but he says he missed their call in May. "I missed a bunch of calls and the call from Notre Dame. I would say my interest in them right now would be medium. I grew up liking Notre Dame but I want to meet the coaches and get to know them first and they haven't offered me yet. I plan to go to a game there this year and might take an official visit there."

So who are the schools Britt has strong interest in? "I would say LSU and Alabama. The LSU coaches have treated me very good and made me feel really wanted. Alabama has been great too and I like Georgia as well. They are good guys."

Britt said he would like to make an early decision. "I hope to make my decision by November or December. I will probably take two or three visits during the season or shortly after my season and then decide."

Comments. The Irish were high on his list early but I think the lack of an offer has probably made them slide a little. The Irish appear to be interested and I think they can get back in the race with an offer if they choose to offer. Top Stories
