Jackson Quick to Impress

How many plays did it take for Brian Kelly to offer 2014 prospect Vincent Jackson? Learn this and more about the Florida athlete inside.

A two-way player out of Tampa (FL) Jesuit High School, Vincent Jackson has seen his recruiting get off to a fast start and Notre Dame is one of several programs to be impressed by the 6-foot-2, 220-pound athlete.

"The Notre Dame offer is big," said Jackson. "While my South Florida offer started things off, getting an offer from Notre Dame was big as Notre Dame has always been a traditional school.

"When head coach (Brian) Kelly came into the school and told me I had an offer it just shocked me."

The story behind his Irish offer could become part of Irish recruiting lore if Jackson becomes a member of the Blue and Gold.

"He (Kelly) was watching my highlight tape and stopped it after the third play," said Jackson. "He said he didn't need to see any more and offered me."

Jackson is not afraid to say it will be hard to pull him out of his home state. He knows the only way to learn more about the Irish would be to visit.

"There is a strong possibility of me making a visit," he said. "I know they have coaches still down here now from what I'm hearing from some of my friends. But it will be more about me just scheduling stuff as to me making a visit."
