Irish Secure First Verbal

Notre Dame received it's first verbal yesterday from a player at a need position. Speed kills, and this player certainly has it.

Justin Hoskins, the 5-10, 183lb tailback from Creston HS in Grand Rapids MI gave Coach Tyrone Willingham a verbal commitment yesterday (July 1). IrishEyes has confirmed the commitment with Justin's father who was delighted with his son's decision.

The speedy running back has been clocked with 4.35 speed (according to the Insiders.com), and was recently timed at Nike camp with 4.41 speed. Hoskins is also a standout in track with a personal best of 10.6 in the 100 and has jumped 24'6" in the long jump.

In a recent interview with IrishEyes reporter Mike Frank, Hoskins said "Michigan, Notre Dame and Florida are my top three. Iowa, Ohio State, Colorado and Oregon are some other schools I'm looking at."

Notre Dame fans should be extremely happy with this commitment. Check back with IrishEyes.com for an interview with Hoskins about his commitment.
