Cooper Talks Irish Offer

Friday was another great day for Chicago (Ill.) Julian defensive lineman Demetrius Cooper as he camped at Notre Dame. has the latest on how his day went, and his thoughts on earning an offer.

Early in June, Demetrius Cooper got a chance to work in front of several college coaches, including Notre Dame defensive line coach Mike Elston.

Cooper, who was encouraged to camp with the Irish today, traveled to South Bend, Ind., looking to impress coaches as he had with other college coaches who have seen him.

"I just got done with camp today," said Cooper. "I did well as they had me at linebacker as they run the 3-4 defense. I did well enough for them to offer me despite it being my first time at linebacker."

For Cooper, the past couple of weeks have changed his plans on when he was looking to make his college pledge.

"I was thinking about making my decision at the end of August or early September," said Cooper. "But I might see what other offers come in. But like I say, every school that offers me is my favorite. I'm not going to say one school is my favorite, as I like them all."

With the offer, Cooper is hoping to make a return trip to visit Notre Dame in the near future.

"I'm planning on getting up there again for an official visit sometime," said Cooper.

From the sound of Cooper's excitement, it sounds as if the Irish impressed him during the day.

"The thing I'll remember most about Notre Dame is how they ran things," said Cooper. "They were very organized in everything they do. Everything is not all spread out and they do things in an old-fashion way. I also liked their coaches too, as they are up front with you and tell you what you do wrong and right."

It will be interesting to see how things develop between Cooper and the Irish in the near future and will continue to bring you the latest developments. Top Stories
