Jones Has Good Day with Irish

Friday found several 2014 prospects taking part in Notre Dame's prospect camp. Chicago (Ill.) De La Salle offensive lineman Jamarco Jones was one of the more impressive ones.

One of the more impressive prospects in the 2014 recruiting class is Chicago (IL) De La Salle 6'5" 285-pound offensive lineman Jamarco Jones.

Jones, who has turned heads at several camps. Friday's camp at Notre Dame was no different.

"I had a very good day at Notre Dame," said Jones. "We did some testing and agility drills and worked on some O-line drills before doing some one-on-one.

Jones not only impressed Irish coaches, he came away impressed with Irish offensive line coach Harry Hiestand.

"Coach Hiestand was a very passionate coach," said Jones. "He taught me a few things today and I thought things went pretty well today."

What has impressed Jones most about the Irish program?

"They are strong both in academics and athletically," said Jones. "They also have a lot tradition in their football program so it means a lot."

With South Bend being an easy drive from Chicago, could the distance from home play a favorable role when it comes to making a college decision.

"Distance is not going to really have a factor in my decision," said Jones. Top Stories
