Gorham Camped at Notre Dame

Defensive back prospect Chris Gorham had already received an official offer from Notre Dame but still attended camp at Notre Dame recently. The Pottstown, PA prospect enjoyed his visit to Notre Dame and the Irish are high on his list.

Chris Gorham has been a hot name lately. The 6-0, 175-pound corner prospect was unknown to many but that is starting to change. "I have offers from Notre Dame, Virginia, Georgia Tech, Duke, Vanderbilt, Kent State and Toledo," said Gorham. "Clemson, Michigan State, South Carolina, Maryland and Oregon are some other schools that are recruiting me."

Gorham received his offer in June. "I talked to Coach Simmons and he said that something would be coming in the mail soon. I got a Fed Ex package with the offer and I just attended camp there last week."

Gorham really enjoyed his camp experience at Notre Dame. "I loved it, it was great. You can just feel the tradition when you are there. I felt really comfortable there so I felt real good about Notre Dame. My parents and I got to speak with Coach Willingham for about an hour and a half. He is a real down-to-earth guy. I feel like I can trust him and he is a great man. I guess the word is integrity."

Gorham also camped at Virginia and Maryland this summer. "I really liked Virginia a lot. They made me feel like I was a high priority on their list. I think I can play early there. I felt real good about Virginia too."

Don't expect a decision soon from Gorham. "I want to see who offers me and I will narrow it down to five before my season. I will try to take my visits during the season and then try and decide."

Does Gorham have a leader? "Notre Dame and Virginia. Georgia Tech, Clemson and South Carolina are also right there. I will wait and see if other teams offer me."

Comments. Gorham was real excited about Notre Dame when I spoke to him but he was also real excited about Virginia. Expect these two schools to battle it out. I can't say if either is leading right now and I think it will be a close race in the end. He is the classic Notre Dame kid and the type of kid Willingham always targets.
