Nader Abdallah loved his visit to Notre Dame. "The camp was great. It was very organized and it's a great place to be. The campus was beautiful and the coaches were very nice to me. I think I connected very well with Coach Mattison who would coach me if I went to Notre Dame and I connected well with Coach Preston who is recruiting me and Coach Willingham is just a great guy."
Did the Irish offer Abdallah? "They told me they were offering me but I haven't received it in writing. They said they were going to be very low on defensive linemen once this season is over and they really wanted me to be part of their program."
Abdallah says he has over 30 offers from the top schools in the country right now. "I have over 30 offers right now. The most important factors will be academics, football, the people at the school, the atmosphere and the status of the program."
The Archbishop Rummel high school prospect is also qualified with a 2.85 core g.p.a. and scored a 19 on his ACT. "I'm going to take that again. I can get a better score than that."
Abdallah says he won't be making a decision anytime soon. "I'm going to take all my visits. I need to see all the schools I'm interested in. I don't think I will announce until signing day."
Abdallah did give us a hint as to his top schools. "In no particular order, Notre Dame, LSU, Florida, Tennessee, Colorado, Oklahoma, UCLA and Miami."
Comments. Abdallah is a real nice guy who would fit in well at Notre Dame. He seems very interested in Notre Dame at this point. The Irish haven't sent the official offer yet but expect him to be one of the top defensive linemen they are recruiting. If they officially offer, expect the Irish to be in the race until the end.
