McCoy Receives Offer From Irish

Klein Forrest high school in Houston, TX is home to wide receiver prospect Bobby McCoy. The 6-2, 175-pound wide receiver is also a track star with blazing speed. McCoy has some impressive offers including one from Notre Dame.

Bobby McCoy had an impressive junior year on the field. "I had 24 receptions for 566 yards and 11 touchdowns." McCoy also says he recently was timed at 4.30 in the 40 by his coach. Track is another sport McCoy excels at with a personal best of 46.8 in the 400 meters.

McCoy has received some offers. "Notre Dame, A&M, Arkansas, Colorado, BYU, Northwestern and Utah have offered me."

The Irish offered a while ago according to McCoy. "It came in writing a while ago. I talked to them in May and they said they were offering and then it came in the mail. I like Notre Dame. I know they are a winning team with a good tradition."

McCoy has been to both Texas camp and Texas A&M camp this summer. "I liked both of them. A&M has offered me already. I liked what I saw at both places."

So what will be important to McCoy when he makes his decision? "Academics will be important to me. I also want to play both sports in college so that will be important to me."

McCoy says he won't be making an early decision. "I don't know if I will take all five of my visits but I will take some. I will take my visits after my season. I don't have any top schools right now. I haven't started to narrow it down yet."

Comments. McCoy says he has an offer in writing. He seems wide open at this point. His 46.8 seems like world-class speed. I had a bad line when I spoke to him and confirmed the time but I'm not sure he heard me correctly. He appears to be a top target at wide receiver with the speed the Irish are looking for. Top Stories
