Notre Dame added another committed player to its 2013 recruiting class Friday afternoon as recently de-committed Stanford verbal pledge Doug Randolph announced his intentions to sign with the Irish.
Woodberry Forest (Va.) School linebacker Doug Randolph
has long been a pledge to the Stanford
Cardinal, however things changed recently as Randolph continued to study other programs the past several months, and Friday the 6-foot-3, 214-pound defender issued his verbal pledge to Notre Dame
"I just think Notre Dame is a better fit for my family first and foremost," said Randolph. "For me personally, on the field and off the field, I felt it would place me in the best situation."
Randolph said the Irish offered several things that drew him in.
"There were no outside influences pulling me to Notre Dame," he explained. "Tradition, their business school and the people there made this the right choice."
