IE Quick Take: Torii Hunter Jr.

Prosper (TX) product Torii Hunter Jr. has added his name to Brian Kelly's ever-growing class of 2013.'s Dave Berk offers his first take on the future Notre Dame wide receiver.

Notre Dame added its fourth wide receiver to the 2013 recruiting class Sunday in three-star Torii Hunter Jr. out of Prosper (Texas) high.

Here is a quick look at the 6-foot, 160-pound receiver, ranked No. 44 overall at his position by FOX Sports NEXT.

The first thing that jumps out about Hunter is his initial burst off the line and ability to beat defenders deep or with quick breaks from his route. Hunter is a gifted athlete with great body control capable of changing his direction on a dime while also having the speed to accelerate and best defenders who may have what looks like the angle to stop him.

Physical size is a major concern as Hunter weights in at 160-pounds. While we fully expect Paul Longo and his team to work their magic, how much weight and muscle Hunter can add without losing speed and the flexibility that gives him a special edge must be watched.

Hunter will add to the growing list of Irish football players whose fathers played sports professionally. While dad stared in baseball, son shows signs of a big time playmaker on the football field. Hunter makes the fourth receiver to pledge to the Irish in this class leaving some questions as to how Brian Kelly will spread the wealth. The skill set is there to surprise many much like Chris Brown has this fall with his speed, smoothness off the line and ability to contort his body to get in position to make tough catches. This is a very good addition to the Irish class. Top Stories
