Five Answers: Michigan

The answers to Berk's five questions posed prior to the Michigan game as the Irish beat the Wolverines 13-6.

#1 -- Can the Irish break the three-game losing streak against the Wolverines? Yes!!!!! The Notre Dame defense rose to the occasion in the 13-6 win as Manti Te'o and company did their part sacking Denard Robinson three times, hurrying him another five times and picking off five Wolverine pass attempts.

#2 -- Will the final 30 seconds of this year's game matter? No!!! The final 3:27 of the game the football was in the hands of the Irish as they ran out the clock with a 7 play 51 yard drive until the clock expired.

#3 -- Can the Irish keep Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson in check? Robinson got his numbers with 90 rushing yards and 138 passing yards. However, getting sacked three times and throwing four interceptions killed Michigan on the night and the senior quarterback took the blame.

#4 -- Can the Irish offensive line protect the quarterback as it did a week ago? Michigan posted no sacks on the night and only one quarterback hurry. However, there will be a new question about the offensive line in our next Five Questions.

#5 -- Can Everett Golson continue his positive growth? No!!! Sadly for Irish fans Golson took a couple of steps back and was pulled early after going 3-of-8 for 30 yards and two interceptions. While Kelly is sure to keep the young quarterback in the offensive game plan, everyone knows the Irish head coach has no problem pulling him for Tommy Rees.
