Five Questions: Miami

Notre Dame returns after a week off and will look to move to 5-0 on the season when they take on Miami in Chicago. Berk is back with his weekly Five Questions as the Irish and Hurricanes get ready to battle.

Saturday's next installment of the Shamrock Series places Notre Dame in Chicago's Soldier Field looking to send Miami back home with a loss. Now ranked in the Top 10, the Irish have a lot on the line after such a successful September.

QUESTION ONE

How will Notre Dame handle coming off an off week?

Many feel the bye week came at the right time as Notre Dame is coming off an overseas trip and three hard battles against Purdue, Michigan State and Michigan. Did the week off give the Irish new energy or did a week away take them off their game?

QUESTION TWO

Can Manti Te'o continue to play at the level he's shown so far this season?

The senior linebacker has played a role in seven of the 14 turnovers forced by the Irish defense. Now with the Hawaii native being talked about with every post season honor available can he continue playing at such a high level?

QUESTION THREE

Can the Irish defense continue to shutdown opponents?

The Irish defense has only allowed 36 points through the first four games of the season which is the fewest by an Irish defense through an opening four games since 1975.

QUESTION FOUR

Can Everett Golson get back to developing his game?

Brian Kelly has put his first year starter on a short leash and some feel Golson may have taken a step backwards in his development. How long Will Kelly stay with Golson against the Hurricanes?

QUESTION FIVE

Can Miami expose the Irish defensive secondary?

Concern coming into the season defensively was focused on the secondary. So far things have gone well for the defense overall and the secondary has not been a weakness. Miami likes to throw deep, and might be the first team to really go after the backside of the Irish defense with success.
