Five Answers: Miami

The answers to our five questions posed prior to Notre Dame's game with Miami.

How will Notre Dame play after their two-week break?

As we discussed in our podcast, Notre Dame got a week off at just the right time and showed up looking fresh while dominating on both sides of the ball. The offense posted 376 yards on the ground with five rushing scores and controlled time of possession having the ball for a total of 39:08 during the game. Impressive performance to say the least.

Can Manti Te'o continue to play at the level he's shown so far this season?

The senior linebacker led the team with ten total tackles and a pass break-up in another dominating performance.

Can the Irish defense continue to shutdown opponents?

Yes!!! A Miami field goal at 5:32 in the first quarter is all the Irish defense gave up on the scoreboard against a team entering the game showing the ability to put 40 or more points on the board. Add in the fact the Irish defense only gave up 84 yards on the ground and posted five quarterback hurries it's easy to see why the Irish remain undefeated.

Can Everett Golson get back to developing his game?

Yes! Golson hit on 77% of his throws (17-22-0) for 186 yards while rushing for another 51 yards. The combination of the Golson using his legs and arm going forward should help the Irish offense open up like it did Saturday night.

Can Miami expose the Irish defensive secondary?

The Irish gave up 201 yards in the air with three passes for over 20 yards. However, the Hurricanes failed to score in the passing game despite the Irish not posting a sack on the night. Top Stories
