Latest On Thaddeus Snodgrass & The Irish

Recruitment rumors on Twitter were abuzz Monday night as Springfield (Ohio) wide receiver Thaddeus Snodgrass tweeted he would make an announcement at his high school Friday, November 2. We spoke with Snodgrass and have the following as it concerns Notre Dame.

Monday night was a busy one for Springfield (Ohio) wide receiver Thaddeus Snodgrass with college coaches and several recruiting reporters calling about his recent visit to Ohio State.

We spoke with Snodgrass twice Monday night: once prior to and once after his Tweet regarding an upcoming pledge.

Here is what the 6-foot-2, 175-pound receiver said about Notre Dame prior to his tweet.

"I just got off the phone with (assistant) coach (Mike) Elston," said Snodgrass. "We talked about me going up there for the Pittsburgh game in a couple of weeks and about the great academics Notre Dame has.

"I was scheduled to visit there but had to cancel because our (Friday) game got postponed due to weather and we played on Saturday."

Snodgrass talked about making visits to Penn State, Wisconsin and Michigan State. We also spoke about his visit to Ohio State this past weekend when they played Purdue.

Snodgrass discussed a potential early decision but felt it would be several weeks away, or after he made the visits he wanted to make.

That all changed when Snodgrass sent the following tweet.

"I will be committing next week at Springfield High School!!"

After which he offered to Irisheyes.com: "As for making my commitment I'll know more about that tomorrow."

Snodgrass is expected to speak with his coach Tuesday and look to set the actual date and time for any announcement.

At present, Snodgrass seems to be leaning towards Ohio State. If there is a second program considered it is Notre Dame. Snodgrass enjoyed his camp experience with the Irish and there has been some talk the Irish may have told him they need to know what direction he's headed.

We'll continue to follow the latest on this Irish recruiting target until he makes his decision known.
