Five Questions: Pittsburgh

Berk is back with his weekly Five Questions as Brian Kelly's No. 3 Irish look to move to 9-0 on the season.

Can Everett Golson play the best home game of his career?

Irish fans know Golson has played a key role in the team's success. However, he's not really played a complete home game this season. You would hope he's to the point where he can have a career day against a team that has been up and down all season.

Can the Irish defense pressure Panthers quarterback Tino Sunseri into making mistakes?

Sunseri is having the best season of his career hitting on just under 70% of his throws with only two interceptions. Opposing teams have sacked Panther quarterbacks 20 times this season so expectations should be high for the Irish defense to have a big day.

Can the Irish defense keep Ray Graham and Rushel Shell below their combined average of 140 yards rushing?

Two players carry the load running the ball for the Panthers with Graham averaging 77.8 yards a game and Shell 63.0 yards a game. The Irish defense is only giving up an average of 95.2 yards per game and could see Saturday as a chance to lower the per game average with a top defensive performance.

Can the Irish defense post a shutout against a team that has struggled throughout the course of the season?

The Irish have come close this season to holding teams scoreless giving up only three points to Michigan State and Miami. However, a shutout has escaped one of the best defenses in the country and the Panthers look like prime for the Irish to earn their first shutout of the season.

Is Pittsburgh the team to end Notre Dame's undefeated season?

The Irish have defeated everyone in their path and with four games remaining the team looks to have a clear path to remain undefeated heading into the Southern California game. Can Pittsburgh surprise the Irish at home despite being an underdog? We'll all find out on Saturday afternoon. Top Stories
