Five Questions: Wake Forest

Dave Berk is back for his" Five Questions: final home game edition," as Notre Dame welcomes Wake Forest for what should be a very emotional Senior Day in South Bend.

QUESTION ONE

Will emotions get the best of the Irish putting them in jeopardy of losing their first game of the season?

The Irish have a history of playing close games on Senior Day and have played all five home games to a one-possession margin this season. Adding in the emotions of Senior Day could take the Irish out of National Championship contention.

QUESTION TWO

Can the Irish defense hold Wake Forest to under 10 points on the game?

The Irish defense has held four opponents under 10 points on the season marking the first time in more than a decade the feat has been accomplished.

QUESTION THREE

Will the Irish offense correct their turnover issues from last week?

Last week the Irish fumbled three times losing two of them. A repeat performance could help Wake Forest find the points needed to squeeze out a win.

QUESTION FOUR

Can tight end Tyler Eifert pull down five catches against Wake Forest allowing him to break Ken MacAfee's 35-year school record?

Irish fans know very well Eifert has enjoyed a great career and Saturday could see the senior break MacAfee's mark of 128 career receptions as well as receiving yards if he can gain a career-high 134 on the day.

QUESTION FIVE

Will the Irish stay undefeated earning their 11th victory of the season while setting the stage for a classic battle next weekend against USC?

Not many of us would have Notre Dame heading to Los Angeles with a record of 11-0 and chance to punch a ticket for the National Championship game if everything falls into place. But that is right where Brian Kelly will have his team with a win over Wake on Saturday.
