Redfield, who stands 6-foot-2, 195-pounds, picked the Irish over USC and will bring great physical size as well as great instincts and a high football IQ with him to South Bend.
Early in the week Redfield had the following to say about the Irish.
"Notre Dame has great academics; great coaches and they're playing for the national championship," Redfield told Scout.com. "They have great facilities and it's a great place to be, a wonderful place to be. Their academics take them to another level," said Redfield. "With USC, I get along with the players. I have friends I played with in high school on the team. I've been talking to the coaches since I was a sophomore and it's close to home."
The Scout.com team will have more on Redfield's decision following the game.
