Answer: No! The Irish didn't hit the scoreboard until late in the third quarter after Bama had taken a 35 point lead.
Question Two: Can the Irish defense apply pressure to Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron and force him to make a mistake?
Answer: No! With no sacks or even a single quarterback hurry the Irish defense watched McCarron go 20-of-28 for 264 yards and four touchdowns.
Question Three: Can Bob Diaco's defense slow down an Alabama offense that enters the game averaging over 38 points a game?
Answer: No! Not since the debacle against Navy in year one of the Kelly era have the Irish showed less on defense with too many missed tackles and poor coverage as Bama racked up 529 yards of offense.
Question Four: Will Everett Golson handle the pressure of the biggest game of his young career?
Answer: Despite his growth throughout the season Golson still showed his youth as Bama sacked him twice and applied pressure. For the night the redshirt freshman went 21-of-36 for 270 yards and one interception and learned he's still got a lot to learn going forward so my answer is, No!
Answer: No! All the great accomplished during the season should not be forgotten as this team did more than anyone would have expected when camp opened. The future looks bright for the Irish as Brian Kelly and his staff continues recruiting bigger, faster and stronger players that will help the team compete going forward.
