Nate Schiccatano from Catawissa, Pa. (Southern Columbia) is among the nations best prospects regardless of position. Schiccatano and his family have been very busy this summer visiting several school's that have offered a scholarship.
It's no secret that Schiccatano has favored Notre Dame for quite some time and most experts thought that the Fighting Irish would have received Nate's verbal commitment by now.
In my last update, I said that Schiccatano would visit Notre Dame and then return home and have a face to face with Penn State head coach, Joe Paterno. Nate did visit Notre Dame and even attended Mass at the Basilica before he left the campus.
Schiccatano and his father visited the Nittany Lions last week and they had their meeting with perhaps the greatest football coach of all time. So where do things stand? Does Notre Dame lead? Does Penn State have the edge? Schiccatano's response was intriguing.
"I've made my visits this summer." Nate Schiccatano said. "I visited with coach (Joe) Paterno last week and he made it clear that I would play running back at Penn State. I'm going to narrow things down to four schools this Thursday."
Hmmm! Four schools? I thought it was down to Notre Dame and Penn State? Didn't you? This could only mean one thing. The visits to Ohio State, Michigan State and other schools this summer went extremely well.
Check the site Thursday for the four schools that have made Nate Schiccatano's wish list.
