Lee taking recruiting process in stride

Indianapolis (Ind.) Lawrence Central linebacker Brandon Lee is reaping the benefits of a strong junior season, as he's being courted by schools such as Notre Dame, Michigan and Michigan State.

The nation's No. 14 ranked outside linebacker, Brandon Lee of Indianapolis (Ind.) Lawrence Central, is steadily seeing his stock improve on the national state as he engages in the recruiting process.

So far, Lee has offers from Louisville, NC State, Kentucky, Iowa, Ball State, Indiana and Purdue.

"I've really been hearing a lot from the schools that have offered me," Lee said. "I've also been hearing from some other schools that are showing interest. There are a lot of them right now."

Lee says one school that has expressed interest is Notre Dame.

"I was talking with Notre Dame before the national championship and signing day, but I haven't gotten a chance to talk to Coach [Mike] Elston recently," he said. "But, I have visited Notre Dame before, and the campus is beautiful. The academic side of Notre Dame is what gets everybody. I want to be an orthopedic surgeon so I want to go into the medical field."

Lee will be back on Notre Dame's campus March 23 for junior day. As far as choosing a school, Lee says academics will weigh most heavily into his decision.

"The academic side will be very important for me," Lee said. "I carry a 3.5 GPA. I also want to feel at home with the staff and with the players."

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker says he's also hearing from Michigan, Michigan State, and Nebraska.

When asked what other schools he'd like to hear from, Lee didn't hesitate.

"I'm taking what I can get -- I'm not going to list off any schools that I want to talk to because if they want to talk to me then I'll be open," Lee said.

Lee is visiting Louisville Feb. 23, and he plans to visit all the schools that have offered him thus far in the upcoming spring and summer.
