Catholic AD previews Hood's Notre Dame visit
Charlotte Catholic (N.C.) athletic director, Kevin Christmas, is accompanying Elijah Hood. on his visit to Notre Dame this weekend, and he has been thoroughly involved in Hood's recruiting process. Christmas believes it's obvious why Hood is drawn to the Irish. "He's been to Catholic school since he was in kindergarten," Christmas said. "He'll make his decision when it feels right. He told me he really wants to step on campus, see different schools and get to know these places." Could a commitment come as early as this weekend? "[It's] too early," Christmas said. According to Christmas, the 6-foot-1, 210-pound running back wants to become familiar with his list of schools before making a final decision. "I don't think he's looking for anything specific on this visit, I think he just wants to get more familiar with Notre Dame," Christmas said."Tomorrow we'll have a meeting in the front office with the coaches. I'm not exactly sure what's on the agenda other than that." Christmas says that Hood is a model player on and off the field. "He is a very respectful and hardworking young man," Christmas said. "He's also a very solid player that can be utilized in multiple positions. Elijah is a tough guy and just a gridiron type of guy." Asked if there's any part of Hood's game that needs improvement, Christmas simply replied, "He's pretty darn good." Before returning to Charlotte, Hood and Christmas will visit Michigan and Ohio State. Hood is a four-star prospect and ranked as the No. 13 running back in 2014. He previously named a top six of (in order): 1. Notre Dame 2. North Carolina 3. Clemson 4. Ohio State 5. Michigan and Georgia Tech (tie)
