Irish Increase Interest in SoCal WR

Fast rising La Mirada (Calif.) wide out Dallis Todd was another elite prospect at USC's Junior Day Sunday and the Trojans are definitely in the mix at this time. Notre Dame has also stepped up its recruitment of the talented prospect.

It has already been well documented about the meteoric rise of receiver Dallis Todd. The athlete went from an ‘under the radar' player without an offer to reclassifying to the 2014 class and pulling in national offers from national powers like Florida, Nebraska, Ohio State and Tennessee, to name a few.

Ironically, Todd has yet to land an offer from any of the in-state schools and attended USC's Junior Day Sunday to gauge the interest from the Trojans.

"Everything went real well," Todd said. "I talked a little with Coach Kiffin and spent a lot of time with Coach Martin, the WR coach. Coach Martin told me they like me a lot and were very interested in me. They said I could be the next superstar receiver at USC and we watched some film of guys like Robert Woods and Marqise Lee.

"I was hoping for an offer but they said they want me to camp with them first so they can get a better look at me. Coach Martin is an impressive guy and a good receiver coach. I'm going to go ahead and camp with them in the summer and also attend some spring practices. Hopefully they end up offering, that would be big to me, USC is a big time program and a school I've been watching for a long time."

Todd said the Junior Day was as much about academics as it was football.

"We toured the academic facility and to be honest, the day was more about academics than anything else," Todd said. "It was real nice there and we also got to check out the new football facilities. They have a great weight room with a 50 yard turf field in there, it was pretty impressive.

"At one point, we split up and the parents went with the coaches and the players went into position groups. We watched some film and got to see the offense and the receivers are featured. It was a good time for sure and like I said, I definitely have interest in USC."

Notre Dame is another national heavyweight showing new interest in Todd and he's hoping to receive some good news from the Irish staff on Tuesday.

"Coach Moschetti told me to call the offensive coaches tomorrow (Tuesday)," Todd said. "I don't know if it's just to talk and get to know each other or if they plan to offer. I sure hope it's an offer, I have a lot of interest in Notre Dame and was on the bandwagon this past season and watched them a lot.

"I actually talked to Coach Kelly during the season last year and they have a great program and tradition. I don't have any leaders right now but an offer from Notre Dame would be big for sure and I'll definitely give them a serious look, just like with USC."
