Irish offer four-star small forward

2013 Virginia Player of the Year (Division II) small forward Devin Robinson was offered by Notre Dame after the Irish staff recently saw the hot shooter in action. Robinson talks about his thoughts on the Irish offer and explains what he does well on the court.

Notre Dame offered four-star small forward Devin Robinson of Christchurch (Va.) School last week. Robinson is now up to 15 offers, and the 6-foot-7, 180-pound standout said he wasn't expecting Notre Dame to jump on board when they did.

"The offer surprised me a little bit," Robinson said. "I didn't know I would be getting offered by them. [Notre Dame assistant] (Anthony) Solomon contacted my high school coach and told him they were offering me after seeing me play recently in Pittsburgh. I texted Coach Solomon after that, and he was just telling me to keep up the good work on the court. Notre Dame really likes my game."

After reclassifying as a junior, Robinson was named Virginia Player of the Year for Division II this past year. He led Christchurch to a state championship title this year, averaging 17.7 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.6 blocks, and 1.3 assists per game.

"I know that Notre Dame has great history as a school and with their athletic programs," Robinson said. "They provide their athletes with great support to succeed. I know that it's a great school. I definitely want to visit."

"Wherever I go, I want it to feel like family," Robinson said. "I want to get a great education as well. Style of play is going matter, I like to get up and down the court and run and gun out there."

Robinson has a long and athletic frame and is known for having a serious range from deep.

"I can score from anywhere and I shoot pretty well," Robinson said. "I can also get the ball to my teammates when I drive in the lane. I need to work on my handle the most."

Robinson is planning on visiting Connecticut this summer, but he's in no rush to make a decision and plans on taking official visits in the fall.

Robinson is ranked as the No. 23 small forward in 2014. Top Stories
