Clarington picking up national interest
One of South Florida's most talented and naturally gifted athletes is a sophomore. Tight end Devonaire Clarington of Miami (Fla.) Southridge has already picked up offers from programs like Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Illinois Miami, Michigan, and Tennessee. Clarington's most recent offer came from Notre Dame this past week. "Notre Dame offered this week," Clarington said. "I haven't spoken with any of the coaches about it, but my head coach told me that they offered." "I don't know much about Notre Dame other than that they were just in the national championship," Clarington said. "I know they have a pretty good rivalry with Miami." Other than Clarington's obvious impressive size, he does everything well for a tight end. "I can block pretty well, and I'm aggressive," Clarington said. "I have good hands and I catch the ball well." Clarington says he doesn't have any favorites right now, although he says he grew up a Miami fan. His cousin, Rodney Smith, played wide receiver at Florida State and just recently signed with the Minnesota Vikings. Clarington has already visited Alabama, Florida State, and Miami, and he says he enjoyed all three. "I'll probably go to some camps this summer, but I don't know where," Clarington said. "It depends on where my dad takes me." "I want a school that wins a lot and somewhere that I'm comfortable with and can get me to the next level," Clarington said.
