WNDU.com reports that starting quarterback Everett Golson is no longer enrolled at Notre Dame. The news was confirmed by the University Saturday evening.

South Bend -- WNDU-TV sports reporter Angelo DiCarlo has confirmed that Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson is no longer part of the Irish football team, nor is Golson enrolled as a student at the University.

Privacy laws preclude the University from commenting on Golson's status.

Notre Dame will have three scholarship quarterbacks for 2013 if Golson does not return. Senior Tommy Rees (18 career starts, 14-4 record), his classmate Andrew Hendrix, and freshman Malik Zaire. Zaire enrolled in January and took part in the team's spring practice.

Golson started 11 games last fall and played in 12. Notre Dame won 11 of those outings prior to the team's BCS Championship game loss to Alabama.

Irisheyes.com will have more on Golson's future, for 2013 and beyond, as facts present.
