Irish Camp Preview takes a look at the lead names and story lines for Notre Dame's upcoming camp this weekend, including prospects on commit watch, young guns who could earn offers, and household names with which the Irish can improve their chances.

Unlike Notre Dame's February junior day, this weekend's camp is likely to provide Irish fans with plenty of recruiting activity during and after the event.

Below is a list of a few key prospects to know that could commit, earn an offer, or vault the Irish higher on their list.

Commit Watch

-- 4-star WR Corey Holmes (Fort Lauderdale, Florida): This will be his fourth visit to campus, and he's bringing his parents with him. He told that he doesn't feel that it's necessary to take official visits in the fall if he feels it's right to commit in the summer. Main competition: Clemson, Miami, Michigan, Oklahoma, UCLA, West Virginia

-- 3-star DE Grant Blankenship (The Colony, Texas): First time visiting his childhood and family's favorite team. He's bringing his parents, so he's certainly on commit watch. Still flying somewhat under the radar after suffering an injury during his junior season. Main competition: Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas A&M, TCU

-- 2015 OT Jerry Tillery (Shreveport, Louisiana): Grew up a Notre Dame fan and the Irish currently lead. Being accompanied by his parents. It may be too early for a commitment, but he does plan on graduating in December 2014 and enrolling in college early, so an early decision is not out of the question, especially for a Notre Dame-type kid like Tillery. Main competition: LSU, Stanford

Earning an Offer?

-- 2014 3-star OLB Drue Tranquill (Fort Wayne, Indiana): Just picked up his biggest offer from Purdue this week, and had a strong showing at Michigan's camp this week as well. Odds are better that he won't be offered this quickly by the Irish, but he comes to compete, so he's likely to earn a good look from the staff. Main competition: Purdue, Toledo

-- 2015 OT Jake Fruhmorgen (Tampa, Florida): His dad played for the Tide, and though Alabama is probably the favorite after offering, Fruhmorgen is also very high on the Irish. Chances he's offered are very likely. Main competition: Alabama,

-- 2015 DE/TE Hale Hentges (Jefferson City, Missouri): He's generating a lot of early interest and could pick up an offer this weekend. Main competition: Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, Tennessee, Wisconsin

-- 2015 C Tristen Hoge (Pocatello, Idaho): Has a few early offers, but if Notre Dame were to offer, the Irish would likely vault to his first place team. Nephew of Merril Hoge. Main competition: Boise State, BYU, Utah, Washington

-- 2015 MLB Jimmy Martin (Maitland, Florida): Should the Irish offer, Notre Dame would be the favorite to land Martin. If he passes the eye test and performs well at camp, Irish could offer, but an offer going out is probably not more than a 40 percent chance right now. Main competition: Miami, Michigan, Michigan State

-- 2015 OLB Osa Masina (Salt Lake City, Utah): Has early offers from the likes of Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon State, Stanford and UCLA. No early favorites, and the Irish have chance to take an early lead after he visits, even if the Irish want to hold off on offering for the time being. Main competition: Michigan, Oregon, Oregon State, Utah

-- 2015 OT Mason Veal (Charlotte, North Carolina): Has been impressive this spring and summer, having earned offers from Clemson, North Carolina and South Carolina. South Carolina is the early favorite, but he's still open right now. Main competition: Clemson, North Carolina, South Carolina

-- 2015 TE/DE Garrett Williams (Orlando, Florida): Has a very impressive offer list for a rising sophomore, with his most recent offer coming from the Gators after camp. He grew up a Florida State fan, his dad played for the Seminoles, but he's open to other schools. Very likely he picks up an offer on his trip to South Bend, and his dad will be joining him. Main competition: Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Florida State, Michigan

-- 2016 OT Erik Swenson (Downers Grove, Illinois): It's probable he will be offered by Notre Dame this weekend. His recruitment will likely come down to Michigan and Notre Dame. Main competition: Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Virginia Tech

-- 2016 RB Robert Washington (Huntersville, North Carolina): Mississippi State commit that is still open. Main competition: Michigan, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Syracuse, UCLA

Making Moves

-- 5-star DE Lorenzo Carter (Norcross, Georgia): Favoring Alabama and Georgia right now, but he's still very open to a lot of schools. If Irish can do enough this weekend to earn an official, Notre Dame could be on track to steal him. Main competition: Alabama, Georgia

-- 4-star DT Thomas Holley (Brooklyn, New York): Just visited Florida, Florida State and Miami, and will see Notre Dame and Ohio State this weekend. Holley has been pretty quiet about his list of favorites, so we'll see where he stands with the Irish after this weekend. Main competition: Florida, Florida State, Miami, Penn State, Rutgers

-- 3-star DE Jaylen Johnson (Corona, California): After the Irish offered in late May, Johnson put Notre Dame in his top five, along with Boise State, Northwestern, Oregon and Vanderbilt. He's only visited Boise State of that group, and the Broncos hold a slight lead right now over the others, but he is a Notre Dame type of a kid, and the Irish will likely have a very favorable impression on Johnson. Main competition: See top five

-- 3-star MLB Kevin Mouhon (Norcross, Georgia): Visiting with teammate Carter. Doesn't plan on committing until Signing Day, so though the Vols have a comfortable lead right now, a lot can change. Main competition: Tennessee

-- 4-star WR Cameron Sims (River Ridge, Louisiana): Likes Alabama a lot right now, and should LSU offer the Tigers could be the front-runner, but the Irish pursued Sims hard this spring and he's interested right now. If the Irish could earn his top spot after this weekend, and it's possible, that would be big news. Main competition: Alabama, LSU, Texas

-- 4-star RB Donte Thomas-Williams (Durham, North Carolina): Has Notre Dame in his top three, along with Clemson and West Virginia. Seems to be favoring Clemson, but he hasn't visited Notre Dame before, so we'll see where he stands after this trip. Irish are higher on Mixon, but would still like to add Thomas-Williams should he decide he wants to join. Main competition: See top three

-- 4-star WR Trevion Thompson (Durham, North Carolina): If the Irish want to land Thompson, this visit will either greatly improve Notre Dame's chances or tilt the scale in the other direction. Thompson is staying about as close to the vest as possible about his recruitment. Main competition: Clemson, Florida, North Carolina State, Ohio State, West Virginia
