Cimino being evaluated

INDIANAPOLIS - Mass Rivals' Matt Cimino of Worcester (Mass.) Academy already holds three big-time offers, but he's on the verge of a few more. He talks about who's recruiting him and where he stands with Notre Dame.

A stretch four that has the ability play to inside-out, three-star power forward Matt Cimino of Worcester (Mass.) Academy has created some interest from elite programs since early in the spring, and he holds offers from Boston College, Kansas State and Virginia. He's also hearing frequently from Georgia Tech, Northwestern, Notre Dame and Stanford.

"I talk with Notre Dame pretty often I would say," Cimino said. "I know they are interested in keeping up with me as I go into my senior season, and I expect them to be at a few of my games this summer. I would fit well in their system because of my versatility, and shooting the ball isn't my only strength. I can get out and run and block shots as well."

"I am really focused on academics, so obviously that's why I like Notre Dame," Cimino added. "And, it's Notre Dame. Not much more needs to be said."

Cimino said ideally he would choose as school before his senior year starts, but he's not going to rush into anything.

"That would be ideal," Cimino said of picking a school early. "I'm still waiting on a few offers, so hopefully they'll come through soon."

If Notre Dame offers, will they be under heavy consideration for a final destination?

"Yeah, definitley," Cimino said.

Cimino is a three-star prospect and is ranked as the No. 17 center in the class of 2014. Top Stories
