Friday Night Lights scores & news -- Notre Dame targets

Wide receiver target Michiah Quick had a 17-yard touchdown catch and a 95-yard kick return in Fresno's 36-16 win over Hanford.

Wide receiver target Isaiah McKenzie had a 95-yard kickoff return for touchdown in loss to Miami Central. McKenzie was injured (hip) in the 4th quarter, but will be good to go next week.

Safety target Juju Smith had 38 yards rushing and 78 yards receiving in Poly's 28-15 win over Crenshaw.

Wide receiver target Allen Lazard had four catches for 73 yards in Urbandale's 63-14 win over Fort Dodge.

*** Holmes only played one half, and he finished with one catch for 20 yards.

-- The Colony (Defensive end Grant Blankenship) - 27, Saginaw - 7

-- Parkway Central (CAT linebacker Jonathan Bonner) - 41, Ladue Horton Watkins - 10

-- Carrollton (P/K Tyler Newsome) - 34, Oxford - 14

*** Newsome was 5-for-5 in PATs, 3-for-4 on touchbacks, and he punted with a 36-yard average and no returns.

-- Central Catholic (Quarterback DeShone Kizer) - 21, De La Salle - 14

*** Kizer was 15-of-29 for 197 yards and a touchdown. He also had a 51-yard punt.

-- Northern Valley Regional Demarest (Defensive end Andrew Trumbetti) - 47, Arlington Country Day - 0 (Pre-season)

*** Trumbetti returned the opening kickoff 80 yards for the score. He recorded 10 tackles in the first half and didn't see action in the second.

-- St. Ignatius (Offensive lineman Jimmy Byrne) - 20, Brother Rice - 29

Of Note:

-- DL target Matthew Elam spoke with the entire Notre Dame staff today. He said they emphasized how good of a fit he would be at Notre Dame and how early playing time is an option. He is scheduled to call Brian Kelly tomorrow.

-- WR commit Justin Brent was in attendance for Notre Dame's game vs. Temple, the only notable recruit present for the game.
