Irish host 2015 quarterback

Notre Dame welcomed junior quarterback James Morgan of Green Bay (Wisc) Ashwaubenon to campus last weekend for a visit.

Junior quarterback James Morgan of Green Bay (Wisc.) Ashwaubenon visited Notre Dame last weekend when the Irish played the Sooners. Morgan camped with the Irish two summers ago.

"It was good," Morgan said. "We had a lot of fun. My mom and I got there around 11 or 12 and got a tour of the facilities. It was my first time really seeing everything; at camp two years ago, I didn't get to see much of campus."

Morgan was able to get a full tour of campus and facilities prior to kickoff.

"Campus was beautiful and the facilities were awesome," Morgan said. "It was one of the biggest weight rooms that I've seen before. The tradition was awesome, and the stadium was so cool. The uniforms were sweet, too."

"My mom really enjoyed herself, too," Morgan said. "She really liked the way they ran things and she liked the players' walk a lot."

Morgan said most of the contact he's had with Notre Dame up to this point has been via letters in the mail.

"After the game, I talked to Coach Alford and Coach Martin for a little bit," Morgan said. "That was my first time really getting to know them, and see they seem like great people. They just want to to continue to see my highlights and see my progress."

Morgan has thrown for over 1,200 yards and 19 touchdowns this season, while leading his team to an undefeated start.

"It's going well," Morgan said. "My main focus is on our season right now, not really recruiting."

Morgan says he points to his arm strength as one of his biggest assets.

"I"m a pocket passer, and my biggest thing is probably my arm strength," Morgan said. "So, I'll be looking for more of a pro-style offense in college. Academics and a winning program are also important to me."

This season, Morgan has also visited Wisconsin. He plans to head to Michigan State and Pittsburgh for visits in upcoming weeks as well. Top Stories
