IN THE PLAYOFF HUNT WR Justin Brent Speedway (8-4) fell to Cardinal Ritter on Friday night 35-10 in the Sectional Championship. LB Jonathan Bonner Parkway Central posted its second straight shut-out, beating Fort Zumwalt North 34-0. They advance to the third round of the playoffs and take on Fort Zumwalt East on Friday night. QB DeShone Kizer Central Catholic stayed perfect on the year, improving to 11-0 with a 69-14 win over Defiance in the first round of the playoffs. Kizer was 11-of-16 for 318 yards and threw four touchdowns. Central Catholic will take on Columbian on Friday night. OG Sam Mustipher Good Counsel (6-5) saw its season end in a 29-28 loss to DeMatha on Friday night in the first round of the playoffs. TE Nic Weishar Weishar had five receptions for 58 yards, as well as 33-yard fumble return for touchdown while playing linebacker. Marist improved to 8-3, beating Bolingbrook 21-7 in the second round of the Illinois 8A playoffs. Marist will take on Oswego on Friday night. REGULAR SEASON PLAY OT Alex Bars Montgomery Bell Academy (9-1) had a bye week. They will play Baylor this Friday night in the first round of the playoffs. DE Grant Blankenship The Colony (8-2) dropped its second loss in a row to Little Elm, 17-14, in its last regular season game. OG Jimmy Byrne St. Ignatius (7-4) took care of business with a 38-14 win over McKinley in the first round of the playoffs. St. Ignatius will take on Hudson on Saturday. DE Matt Dickerson Serra improved to 7-2 on the season with a 56-6 win over Archbishop Riordan on Friday. Serra will play its last regular season game against Archbishop Mitty on Saturday. WR Corey Holmes St. Thomas Aquinas (8-2) experienced a 22-7 loss to Deerfield Beach. Holmes did not play in the game, as he was sidelined wearing a walking boot. St. Thomas Aquinas will play Miami Central on Friday night in the first round of the playoffs. LB Greer Martini Woodberry Forest (8-1) won 56-13 over rival Episcopal on Saturday. OT Quenton Nelson Red Bank Catholic (8-0) stayed undefeated with a 49-7 win over Monmouth Regional. They'll take on Immaculata on Friday night. K/P Tyler Newsome Carrollton (9-1) beat LaGrange 42-6. Next up for Carrollton is Northwest Whitfield on Friday night in the last regular season game. DT Andrew Trumbetti Demarest (3-6) won its second game in a row against Tenafly, 61-26. CB Nick Watkins Bishop Dunne (6-4) pulled out a close one against Nolan Catholic, winning 17-16. Bishop Dunne will play at Antonian Prep on Saturday in a regular season match-up. LB Richard Yeargin University School (9-2) lost 28-3 to Miami Central. They'll take on Guilliver Prep Friday nigh in the first round of the playoffs. 2015 OT Jerry Tillery Evangel Christian moved to 8-1 on the year with a 27-0 win over Mansfield. Evangel Christian will play its last regular season game against Loyola College Prep on Friday.
